Bayside Café at Blue Oaks Campus blends a casual café vibe with a unique family-friendly environment tailored especially to busy parents and their little ones. Located within the Blue Oaks Campus in Roseville, this space goes beyond typical coffee spots by integrating an indoor play area that keeps kids entertained while adults can unwind or work nearby.

This isn’t just a quick coffee stop; it’s a community hub where the atmosphere is quietly bustling without being chaotic. Parents often bring children for play dates, knowing the indoor playground and open turf area provide plenty of room to run around safely. The air conditioning makes it a comfortable retreat during hot Sacramento summers, and the availability of a cold water fountain encourages visitors to bring their own refreshments, highlighting the place’s practical, down-to-earth feel.

What sets Bayside Café apart is how it supports the multifaceted needs of locals—whether that’s grabbing a reasonably priced coffee and snack, catching up on work or meetings in a casual setting that accommodates kids, or simply socializing with other parents in a calm, clean environment. The seating mix includes tables, couches, and lounge chairs, creating flexible spaces for different kinds of visits, from casual chats to informal business discussions.

The volunteer-run aspect adds a subtle but noticeable sense of care and community ethos. The décor, including a large indoor tree and colorful seating, reflects a thoughtful, welcoming design that feels intentionally child-friendly yet inviting for adults. The overall experience is one where the practicalities of parenting meet a relaxed café culture, making it ideal for anyone balancing coffee breaks with family time.

Best times to visit are daytime hours when the facility is well-staffed and kids are most active, especially on weekdays for parents looking for a mid-morning or afternoon breather. It’s a comfortable, low-pressure spot for locals who want a break from the usual routines without sacrificing convenience or access to kid-friendly amenities.

I love this place for so many reasons. An excellent (free) play date meet up spot with reasonably priced food/drinks. It’s an excellent place to bring your own food to and don’t forget your water bottles to refill from the ice cold drinking fountain! There is a play structure and also lots of floor space to run around on. Air conditioned nicely for these hot summer days.

My grandsons love the indoor play structure. It's nice to be able to grab a bite to eat/drink and watch the children in a safe enclosed area. I observed parents on laptops, napping, socially interacting with others and just enjoying the clean, calm, protective environment..

Great family environment. Great staff. Very large room with play structure and indoor turf for endless possibilities of family fun activities. Average to lower priced coffee, snacks and simple foods to reenergize. Great place for a casual business meeting if you need to bring along the kids.

For a volunteer run cafe, it's pretty decent. The atmosphere is mesmerizing. Like the bedroom I always wanted as a little boy. Awesome indoor park, plenty of colorful seating options, and a large fake indoor tree likely a metaphor for the Bayside Church.

I absolutely love coming here with my child and our friends. It's wonderful during super hot or super cold days...the kids can safely play while the parents visit. I've never met a staff member without a big smile. Very good people, food and coffee!

Awesome! It is a big open room, cafe, play structure, bathroom, couches, rugs and chairs. Half of the room has fake grass on the ground a huge artificial tree and outdoor chairs. Kids Love it, my son calls it wacky tacky! And it is free, all except the cafe that is.

This place is A-Mazing! Big indoor play structure and a huge plot of turf with chairs for parents to sit while the kids run around. The cafe itself is also great. Really fun drinks that are made well and lots of snack AND food options. Can't recommend enough!
